24 November 2020

Hi, I am Rahila, your insider and localie in fairy Cappadocia, Turkey ๐Ÿ˜Ž Let me introduce you to one of the most impressive places of central Cappadocia: Zelve, an open air museum. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ“ŒTuesday, November 24th at 10:00 CET We will walk around ancient big village, fully carved in rocks and spread over 3 valleys. It is unbelievable that Zelve village was inhabited until 1952! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Besides monasteries and churches, in the valley you can find houses, a tunnel joining two of the three valleys, a mill, a mosque and several dove-cotes! Zelve was an important settlement and religious area during 9th and 13th centuries but it is still not known when the rock dwellings were first carved and inhabited by people. But we can definitely say that Zelve was home of many civilizations! Save the date and follow me!๐Ÿ˜˜
