I have moved to Budapest as a student and fell in love with the city almost instantly. Its ambiance has something in it for everyone. Budapest's charm may take a while to discover itself for some, while others bond with the city instantly. It is diverse (in the best possible sense) and will give each and every traveler something special, one just need to know where to look.
I am an international student from Russia studying hospitality in one of the local universities. I've spent 3 years here which gave me enough time to explore the city and the country, although till this day I keep discovering something new. I was born in Russia, but used to live in Canada before coming to Budapest, so I guess it provided a bit of the "middle ground" perspective, providing many opportunities to compare or mostly enjoy my time here.
I love local architecture. European culture feels engraved in the walls of the buildings. In Budapest you may be going through the same route every day yet, if once you accidentally look up where you've never checked before, something new may be discovered every time it happens and this (besides many other things) is what I find amazing about Budapest - it is continuous discovery . Like I said, the city has a little something for everyone, you just have to ask the right person.
Insiders tips and tricks, great photo locations and amazing food is of course a must, but with me you may rest assured that you will be able to discover the city no matter what your tastes or wallets are, there is something for everyone. Budapest has many ingredients and I will be the barman who ensures to get the right cocktail mix just for you ;)
