Kars is most frequently visited as a jumping-off point for travelers going to Medieval Armenian city Ani, but it is a viable destination in its own right for its 19th-century Russian imperial buildings, and, of course, its role as the setting for Nobel Literature Price owner Orhan Pamuk's famous novel Snow and as well as it was home for Russian poet Alexander Pushkin for a period of time. It was also home for exiled Russian Christian people called Molakan. Kars was ruled by the Urartu Kingdom, Persian, Armanians, Kurds, Georgian, Turks, Russians. Therefore, you can see or experience something from each of these nations.
