Hey, I’m Nick, the founder of Localie, an active traveller and a citizen of the world who returned not so long ago after living three years in the Netherlands. I was even a Localie there myself, conducting tours. Perhaps we crossed paths in the past there? Below just a few reasons why should go to Kaliningrad together. ✨ Here the German past lives in a remarkable way through the Russian present. It’s a complete contradiction of cultures that blends seamlessly in a very peculiar and unique way ✨ We’ll travel back in time to an Imperial nation that no longer exists, Prussia! We will see typical unassuming residential quarters, alongside the Villas of the Aristocracy, and old medieval castles! ✨ There are so many Castles here in Kaliningrad that the government is allowing them to be sold for as little as one Rouble! The catch of course, that the purchaser is obliged to renovate them in part to the state of their former glory! ✨ We will have fun at the beach! On the doorstep is the stunning Baltic Sea and the old seaside resorts of the European Elite ✨ We will meet up with some locals who decided to leave Moscow for the winter and made Kaliningrad their seasonal home. Why make such a decision? We will hear first-hand accounts of all the perks! Over the four days will take in Kaliningrad and her surroundings in such a way that it will present a risk for many that they will want to stay, or at the very least keep coming back! This tour has been put together alongside our localie Dina. She is an editor, illustrator, activist, and patriot of her region. Over the span of all 4 days Dina will be sharing her unique insight into the history and way of life in Kaliningrad. Check out the specifics of the tour in the “Day” tabs. Below are the cost breakdown and detailed description of what is included/excluded in the tour price.

Welcome here! I’m truly a world citizen and it’s hard to explain my origin. Being born in Ukraine, raised there, I moved to Russia when I was 13. Here my home was in 3 different towns: Vladimir where I studied at school and later at the university, St.Petersburg where I started my career, and finally Moscow where I continued my corporate path in the country offices of Ford and later IKEA. In 2017, I moved to The Netherlands being promoted to headquarters of my employer. After 2.5 years in that w...
