My story
I came to Budapest for the first time in 2016 and immediately fell in love with it: not only for the architecture, but also for the language. As a linguist, I got amazed as soon as I stepped in the metro from the bus station: despite all my linguistic baggage, I couldn't understand a single word! This caught my attention even before having a look on the splendors of the city, and I knew I would move there sooner or later :)
What do I do here?
I am translator by education. After having worked as an interpretor several years in Brussels, I decided to escape the stress and to finally move to Hungary to fullfill a dream of mine: learn Hungarian. I am currently a student at the Balassi Institute of Budapest, dominating the city from the top of the Gellert Hill.
What's the best of my city?
The city is full of secret places hard to fathom for many: what if I told you that in Budapest, you can enjoy the thermal sources of a 500 years old spa built back during the turkish occupation of the city? That you can visit under the castle what used to be a hospital during WWII, turned into an atomic bunker during the Cold War? That you can find places offering delicious all-you-can eat food for less than 6 euros? Jump on board, and you'll see ;)
