I was not born in Madeira. In fact, my connection with the island only happened in college, eleven years ago, when I met my - now - wife. The first time I was here I really liked it. On the second time, it actually felt hard to leave. At last, on the third visit, there was no choice anymore. It was just a matter of time until we get our lives in order and move here for good.
I'm a musician and a composer. Songs and lyrics have always moved me and shaped my life, pushing me to become a singer. Upon the stage, however, there's always a connection with the people in the audience. And that's when curiosity becomes an urge to meet and learn about new cultures. From there to a degree in Art History, and then to some jobs related to tourism, was just a small step.
I like a stroll in the gardens, the seclusion of the mountains, the smell of ancient History in the buildings and museums. There's a story on every street, a song in every tree, a mystery on every track. It doesn't matter if you like people or being alone, if you like to party at night or visit the museums in the morning, in the end, there's always something new to explore.
As a History student, a singer and storyteller, I give the upmost priority to the museums and to the gardens. Those are the keepers of our culture, the guardians of our past, and the beacons of our future. As such, no better place to start getting to know us.
