My story
Over 7 years ago I received my Hogwarts' acceptance letter and flew all the way to misty and mysterious Scotland just to study architecture. I landed in Glasgow, and after the initial linguistic and thermal shock, I made this place my home. Since then I had a chance to study and analyse the city from various points of view, meet and work with locals, newcomers and tourist alike, welcoming them in this quite unique and quite amazing place.
What do I do here?
I am a wonderer. This means I do everything that makes me wonder. I'm a girl with an architectural background who works in properties, hosts people from around the world in her flat and loves to go out hiking, with an occasional jump out of a plane where our lovely Scottish weather allows. I was told I'm full of stories, both personal and about the place I live in, so if you enjoy discovering the world, like I do, feel free to get in touch :)
What's the best of my city?
It's a place full of contrasts, with many different faces, and, as it was once said, 'a city with a schizophrenic personality'. It means that depending on where you look, you will see a very different picture and all of them are ever-evolving and reinventing themselves, some out of their own ambition, some needing more help, all striving for a better future. It's simply fascinating to watch and be part of this process.
My tours secret sauce
I was not born in here. I arrived over 7 years ago and since then I've been exploring and trying to understand the place, it's history, local customs and culture. I suppose it gives me a slightly more 'objective view'. I can clearly see, what is specifically Glaswegian and very different from other places I lived in as well as point out things that unite us with other Scottish, British and European cities. The most fascinating are obviously the aspects that make Glasgow very unique, some of which I still do not fully comprehend. (Square sausage sandwich with a can of Irn Bru, anyone? Or a quest to put a cone on the Wellington's statue...? )
